Tres bien ensemble

Tres bien ensembles capture the ever changing tableaus that happen, exist happily for a while, and are then reworked. They never start with any clear vision but rather their cohesive and complementary nature is revealed when everything is perfect.

Monkey Business

This tableau came together without any conscious effort to create a “monkey theme.” It wasn’t until I declared the ensemble to be tres bien that I realized the overall tribute to Hanuman, the Indian monkey god, was a success. (Note: The small framed drawing of a woman is from Iran and painted on bone–no monkey business there.)

Venetian Scherzo (mini-ha ha)

The tres bien ensemble joke here is that a jewelry pin of a Venetian gondolier I bought in Venice when I was a kid floats on a lagoon of sea glass within the deeper blue of a Murano glass ashtray (also purchased in Venice by Grandma).
