Whether I’m a birdbrain or have birds on the brain (possibly both), I love all designs avian in nature. My preferred way to bring birddomness into my life is to experience these creatures in the wild, and because I would never, ever, never cage a bird, possessing these elemental creatures in beautiful objects is a joyful pursuit. Here are some of my favorites (several are repeated from an earlier post Birds of a Feather.)

I purchased these girls in an antique store located in an old gas station in Williams, Arizona just south of the Grand Canyon on Route 66.
This is a mid-century Japanese lusterware wall pocket.
Lusterware handpainted Japanese wall pocket was made by “Hotta Yu Shoten and Company circa 1920-1930.
This lusterware piece looks Deco but is unmarked. I bought it somewhere in North Georgia.
Mama bird feeding baby bird (back left) is marked “Made in Occupied Japan”
The plate is English and I found the parrots in Williams, Arizona on our Route 66 trip
This wan fellow is marked “Brazil”
Talk about “fowl play.” I love how the two birds (left, center) are talking about the third, which leans in to overhear.
